This is a poem I wrote about two years ago. It's one of my favorites, so I thought I'd unbury it once again.
The world grows quiet,
skin turns numb,
and eyes awaken,
they do not shut.
The sun rises in a crimson sky,
and waters fall upon the shy.
The beautiful man sings,
and music flows from the earth.
It pierces the body,
and resonates throughout the soul.
It dismantles the mask,
leaving only the heart,
a heart so disfigured,
it's called a piece of art.
A grumbling begins,
it begins from within.
It's the beginning of change,
the beginning of great light.
Time grows on,
and a new song arises.
It's the song of the beloved,
they cannot be silenced.

WAKE ME UP INSIDE...WAKE ME UP INSIDE...CALL MY NAME AND SAVE ME FROM the dark...
I BIT MY BLOOD TO RUN...BEFORE I COME UNDONE...SAVE ME FROM THIS NOTHING I've become
